Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Based in Sevierville, Tennessee, you'll educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safety in a dynamic pet retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and driving outcomes.
• Proactively sell and schedule training classes while promoting the full curriculum.
• Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and a safe environment for pets and people.
• Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize associate contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in PetSmart’s Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier loads required.
