Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Trainers deliver positive reinforcement training using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and drive exceptional outcomes in a dynamic retail environment. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus to build lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent experiences and concerns.
- Actively promote and sell group/private training packages across channels.
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
- Recognize team contributions and respond swiftly to pet health issues, including vet transport.
- Cross-train associates as pet training expert and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting.
