Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Based in Sicklerville, New Jersey, this role combines animal expertise, customer engagement, and retail operations to foster positive outcomes for pets and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in training areas; respond to pet health issues.
- Educate store associates as subject matter expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Handle paperwork, scheduling, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, bending, and animal exposure in a dynamic store environment.
