Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote classes, ensure safe environments, and contribute to store success in a dynamic retail setting with live animals and high customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class/store areas.
• Act as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception and composure under pressure required.

Experience & Skills

Seek candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, flexible scheduling, and strong communication/organizational skills. Passion for pets and sales acumen essential.
