Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment, acting as the store's training expert while supporting overall operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
- Schedule classes, keep training areas clean/safe, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Train associates, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
