Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your store, ensuring safe, fun experiences that build lifelong pet bonds. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent interactions and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Recognize team sales efforts, assist other departments, and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Uphold company policies, culture of belonging, and recommend merchandise/services.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
