Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes using our proven curriculum. This role combines animal handling, customer education, sales, and store support to ensure safe, fun experiences in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, ensuring safety for pets and people while maintaining clean areas.
- Actively sell classes via in-store, phone, and online channels; educate on curriculum benefits.
- Handle pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and manage all related paperwork/scheduling.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to animals/noise. Flexible scheduling required.
