Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of pet well-being. Accredited through our Training Instructor Course, you'll educate on curriculum benefits, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering a culture of belonging.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead classes, manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training packages, recommending merchandise/services.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas; respond to sick/injured pets with vet transport if needed.
• Educate store associates as training expert; handle paperwork and recognize contributions.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition programs.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in a dynamic store environment.
