Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our St. Albert store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Accredited instructors like you actively promote and conduct classes, ensuring safe, fun outcomes while driving sales and store success.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class areas.
• Recognize team contributions to training sales and assist other departments.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.
• Follow company policies and participate in belonging initiatives.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
