Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our St. Petersburg store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences in a dynamic pet retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
• Drive sales by educating on curriculum benefits and recommending merchandise/services.
• Maintain impeccable training areas, handle paperwork, and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safety by monitoring pets, responding to injuries, and collaborating across departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing team contributions and upholding company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational prowess, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team-lifting capability required.
