Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Suffolk, Virginia store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and fostering team success.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
