Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Summerville, SC store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering expert training services using PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care to foster positive outcomes and build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Proactively sell and schedule training classes while highlighting curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training documentation, ensure class areas are safe and clean.
- Recognize associate contributions, handle pet emergencies, and cross-train store team on training services.
- Recommend products/services and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
We're seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a pet-filled environment is essential. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure required.
