Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for dogs and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Maintain a clean, safe training area and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Educate associates and pet parents on training benefits; handle inquiries and paperwork.
• Collaborate across departments to recommend services and merchandise.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
