Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Superior, Colorado, you'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean training environments. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pet training services following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions across channels.
• Actively sell training classes and merchandise while educating on program benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store areas for safety and presentation.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and follow company policies.

Physical Demands

Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet hair-filled, noisy environments with animals.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays.
