Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer is the go-to expert for positive reinforcement training, engaging pet parents and delivering exceptional experiences. You'll uphold our vision of pet well-being through certified instruction, sales, and safety-focused operations in a fun, pet-filled store setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, ensuring safe environments and positive outcomes for pets and parents.
• Actively sell classes via in-store interactions, phone, and online channels while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, maintain paperwork, and schedule sessions per company guidelines.
• Keep training areas clean, recognize team sales efforts, and assist with sick/injured pets including vet transport.
• Cross-train associates as SME, recommend merchandise, and support other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, bending, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
