Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of positive pet experiences. Based in Taylors, South Carolina, this role involves hands-on training, sales, safety protocols, and collaboration across store departments in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
• Proactively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, ensure clean/safe training areas, and recognize team contributions.
• Respond to pet health issues, transport to vets as needed, and cross-sell merchandise/services.
• Act as training expert for associates and participate in store culture initiatives.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
