Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Temecula, CA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering a welcoming store environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail savvy ready to make pawsitive impacts.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Customer Engagement

• Conduct classes via phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Educate on curriculum benefits and resolve concerns promptly.

Sales & Operations

• Sell classes proactively in-store, phone, and online; recommend merchandise/services.
• Handle paperwork, scheduling per company guidelines, and maintain clean training areas.
• Act as subject matter expert, training associates on pet training value.

Safety & Support

• Create safe environments; respond to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in moderate-noise settings. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays needed.
