Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in wet/hairy areas with depth perception required. Flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Lead classes, sell training services across channels, educate on curriculum benefits, maintain paperwork/scheduling, keep areas clean/safe, handle sick pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and foster a culture of belonging while following policies.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational detail, and strong communication. Passion for pets and sales acumen preferred.
