Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean training spaces. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to thrive in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pet training services following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes across channels.
• Maintain paperwork, educate store associates, and recognize sales contributions.
• Ensure safety by monitoring pets, cleaning areas, and handling emergencies like vet transports.
• Recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays needed. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
