Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a culture of belonging in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pet training services following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on program benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, and create safe environments.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Recognize team contributions and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
