Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Trainers deliver positive reinforcement-based training classes, engage pet parents, and drive sales of our proven curriculum. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical activity.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), climb ladders, stoop/kneel, handle pets in wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead classes ensuring safe, clean environments and positive outcomes.
- Actively sell training via in-store, phone, online channels.
- Educate associates and parents; manage scheduling/paperwork.
- Respond to pet health issues, recommend services/merchandise.
- Support store operations and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
