Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. Engage pet parents in-store, by phone, or online; sell classes; ensure safety; and uphold our vision of exceptional pet care. This dynamic role combines education, sales, and hands-on animal interaction in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and training outcomes across channels.
- Actively sell and schedule classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, cleanliness, and safety in training areas.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate with store team, recognize contributions, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must be flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50lbs+, standing, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-filled setting.
