Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart in Vienna, WV, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to flex evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, or online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class/store areas.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
• Train associates as subject matter expert and assist other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, handling live animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings. Flexibility for varied shifts mandatory.
