Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences for pets and parents in Vienna, Virginia. Engage customers, sell classes, and uphold our vision using certified curriculum. Ensure safety, educate associates, and contribute to store success in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals, work in moderate noise/wet areas with pet hair. Flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, online; resolve concerns.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes per company guidelines.
- Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, ensure safety.
- Educate on curriculum benefits; serve as store training expert.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation required.
- Strong communication, organization, composure under pressure.
- Computer proficiency; physical ability for pet handling/lifting.
