Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedules per company guidelines.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize team contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in PetSmart’s Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
