PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Based in Washington, DC, you'll foster positive pet experiences, ensure safety, and contribute to store success in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, educating pet parents on benefits and delivering curriculum-based sessions.
- Actively sell classes via in-store, phone, and online channels while addressing concerns.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
- Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and handle pet emergencies.
- Uphold company policies, promote belonging, and recommend merchandise/services.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
