Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart in Washington, PA, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training via our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive exceptional outcomes over phone, in-person, or online. This entry-level role suits pet enthusiasts with retail experience, offering flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, educating on curriculum benefits and resolving concerns.
- Sell classes proactively in-store, phone, and online while recommending merchandise.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
- Handle sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments.
- Recognize team contributions and embody PetSmart's values.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability required.
