Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments. This dynamic role combines pet expertise, sales, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and resolve concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while promoting curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and educate store associates as the local expert.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in training areas; respond to sick/injured pets.
• Recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
