Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.
• Follow all policies, participate in Belonging culture, and act as training expert.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, handle animals in moderate-noise/wet environments, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.
