Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver exceptional training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per curriculum, and ensure safety while driving sales and positive outcomes in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes proactively and educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend products/services, and support store teams.
- Serve as training expert, recognize contributions, and uphold policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer skills, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in a pet-filled environment.
