Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Westwood store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive exceptional outcomes while contributing to store success. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
- Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; handle concerns swiftly.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
- Recognize team sales efforts and assist other departments as needed.
- Respond to pet health issues, recommending services and merchandise.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a pet-filled setting.
