Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers are the heart of our training programs, delivering positive reinforcement-based classes that transform pet behavior and strengthen bonds with owners. Based in our Wichita store, you'll engage pet parents, sell classes, and ensure safe, fun experiences while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback with empathy and expertise.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Train store associates on training benefits and recognize top performers.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. You must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and be available evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for long periods, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
