Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Willoughby, Ohio store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines pet expertise, customer service, and sales to help pets thrive and build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain training records, schedule classes, and keep areas clean and safe.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend merchandise, and collaborate across departments.
- Serve as training subject matter expert, recognizing team contributions.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years retail/customer service experience
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays
- Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle live animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure.
