Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, manage sessions, and ensure safety while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes per curriculum.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Educate associates as training expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, pressure-handling, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, pet handling in moderate-noise/wet environments with animals.
