Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, upholds company values, and drives pet parent engagement. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per curriculum, and ensure safe, clean environments. This role blends pet expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns and sell classes.
• Educate on full training curriculum and act as store subject matter expert.
• Schedule classes, maintain paperwork, and keep training areas presentable.
• Prioritize safety: create secure class environments and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Recognize associate contributions, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Follow policies, participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Seeking 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), strong organization, and communication skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet hair exposure, and moderate noise.
