Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Yonkers, NY store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell pet training classes across channels.
- Deliver training per curriculum; schedule classes per company guidelines.
- Maintain paperwork, cleanliness, and safety in training areas.
- Recognize team contributions; assist other departments; handle pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively; lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs); handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure.
