Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive pet training programs. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail pet store setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while ensuring pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, collaborate with vets, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing team contributions and following company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in pet-filled environments with moderate noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
