Role Overview

As a Product Quality Specialist, you'll ensure PetSmart's proprietary products meet rigorous safety, regulatory, and performance standards. Partnering with cross-functional teams like Product Formulation, Design, Brand Management, Buying, Sourcing, and Global SQA, you'll build quality standards, manage supplier programs, and drive improvements from customer feedback to root cause resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product quality standards, testing protocols, and critical-to-quality attributes.
  • Assess supplier capabilities and collaborate on CAPA for quality issues.
  • Analyze customer complaints, reviews, and feedback; benchmark against competitors.
  • Work with 3rd-party labs on testing and inspections; track and report issues.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and execute root cause analysis.

Experience & Skills

Required: Bachelor's in engineering or related field; 1+ year experience; Root Cause Analysis expertise; ANSI standards proficiency; statistics knowledge; strong problem-solving; self-starter mindset; passion for pets/people.

Nice to Haves: Six Sigma Lean Certification; apparel/molding experience; EPA/CPSC knowledge.

  • Perform root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and follow-up on failed tests/inspections
  • Partner with 3rd-party labs for testing, inspections, and consulting
  • Track, report, and escalate trending product quality issues
