Role Overview

The Retail Customer Service Supervisor (Key Holder) drives exceptional pet parent service, upholds brand standards, and supports store operations. This full-time role shares leadership duties, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and engagement while achieving sales and loyalty targets. Act as Leader on Duty, mentor associates, and promote services like adoptions and vet partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Train, coach, and develop associates; delegate tasks; recognize top performers; handle grievances.
  • Pet Parent Experience: Resolve concerns via phone/in-person/online; promote events, sales, and loyalty programs; manage online pickups.
  • Store Operations: Oversee cleanliness, safety, merchandising; conduct cycle counts; handle POS/cash; support openings/closings.
  • Pet Care: Monitor pet health, facilitate adoptions/sales, transport sick pets to vet as needed.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail experience, leadership preferred. Must have full availability, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. PetSmart provides training for success.

  • Drive pet parent experience via loyalty programs, promotions, and issue resolution
  • Oversee store cleanliness, safety for people/pets, and merchandising standards
  • Manage live pet sales, adoptions, and coordinate store events/marketing
  • Handle POS transactions, online order fulfillment, and opening/closing procedures
