Role Overview

The Retail Customer Service Supervisor (Key Holder/Experience Lead) drives exceptional pet parent service, upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll champion loyalty programs, promotions, and interactions store-wide while sharing oversight of safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and associate engagement. Act as Leader on Duty when needed, guiding teams without direct reports but providing key feedback.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Facilitate associate experiences through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews or promotions. Delegate tasks, validate compliance, lead as Leader on Duty, address grievances, and celebrate engagement.

Brand Integrity & Store Experience

Deliver outstanding service via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns; promote events like adoptions and shot clinics; manage live pet sales/adoptions; handle online pickups, POS backups, cycle counts; maintain cleanliness/safety standards; ensure policy compliance and safe pet handling.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 2+ years retail customer service experience (leadership preferred), full-time flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, computer proficiency, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. Passion for pets and retail excellence required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive pet parent experience via loyalty programs, promotions, and issue resolution
  • Oversee store safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and compliance with policies
  • Manage live pet sales, adoptions, store events, and vet partnerships
  • Handle POS transactions, online order fulfillment, and cycle counts as backup
  • Act as Leader on Duty directing associates and addressing concerns
  • Ensure safe environment for pets, associates, and customers including sick pet protocols
