Role Overview

As Retail Customer Service Supervisor (Key Holder/Experience Lead), you'll deliver exceptional service to pet parents while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Drive loyalty, promotions, and interactions store-wide, sharing oversight of safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and associate engagement. Act as Leader on Duty, guiding teams without direct reports but providing key feedback and support.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Facilitate associate experiences through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and feedback for performance reviews, discipline, and promotions. Delegate tasks, lead when managers are absent, address complaints, and celebrate engagement.

Brand Integrity & Store Experience

Handle pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online; promote events like adoptions, vet partnerships, and shot clinics. Manage live pet sales/adoptions, online orders, POS backups, cycle counts, and merchandising. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and policy compliance across sales floor, adoption center, and facilities. Transport sick pets to vets as needed and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Require 2+ years retail customer service experience; leadership preferred. Full-time flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Excel in computer use, communication, pressure handling, organization, and detail orientation. Passion for pets and retail success a plus.

  • Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure (experience)

  • Oversee store safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and compliance with policies

  • Act as Leader on Duty, delegating tasks and addressing associate concerns
  • Ensure safe environment for pets, associates, and customers including vet transport if needed
