Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for operational excellence, driving merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate leadership, financial results, and a safe store environment. This full-time role in Denver, CO, reports to store leadership and thrives on coaching teams to uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, coach associates; manage onboarding, reviews, labor, mentoring, and task delegation to ensure pet safety and business needs are met.
- Store Operations: Oversee pet healthcare, habitat maintenance, inventory processes (receiving, stocking, counts), merchandising, BOPIS/SFS programs, vendor relations, and sales trend analysis.
- Financial & Safety: Drive P&L goals, control expenses, maintain compliance, ensure cleanliness, and respond to pet parent concerns while prioritizing safety for associates, pets, and customers.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, pet care knowledge, strong leadership to build high-performing teams, analytical skills for inventory/P&L, and a passion for pets. Proficiency in operational processes, merchandising, and customer service is essential. Must be available for opening/closing shifts and flexible scheduling.
