Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence, upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll manage merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate leadership, financial outcomes, and a safe store environment. This full-time role demands strong leadership to meet business goals and pet parent expectations.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Recruit, interview, coach associates; facilitate training, onboarding, reviews, and succession planning. Delegate tasks, address grievances, ensure pet safety protocols, and communicate company priorities to boost engagement.
Store Experience & Operations
Oversee pet healthcare, habitat maintenance, inventory processes, merchandising, and Buy Online Pick Up In Store programs. Maintain vendor relations, backroom standards, sales trends analysis, store cleanliness, and safety. Handle opening/closing and pet parent concerns.
Expense Management
Drive sales, control shrink, analyze reports for trends, manage labor/supplies, and leverage resources to meet P&L targets.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, proven team leadership, pet care knowledge, inventory/P&L expertise, and skills in coaching, conflict resolution, and operational improvement. Passion for pets and customer service is essential.
