Role Overview
As Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) in Glenmont, New York, you'll drive store success through shared leadership. Accountable for merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate development, financial outcomes, and safety. This full-time role ensures our stores uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Recruit, interview, coach associates; manage training, onboarding, reviews, labor, mentoring, and succession. Delegate tasks, address grievances, ensure operational compliance, and celebrate engagement.
Store Experience & Operations
Oversight of pet healthcare (feeding, cleaning, sick pet protocols), inventory accuracy, stocking, planograms, BOPIS/SFS programs. Maintain merchandising, vendor relations, backroom standards, safety, and cleanliness. React to sales trends and handle opening/closing.
Expense Management
Drive sales, control shrink, analyze reports, manage labor/supplies, leverage home office resources for P&L success.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail leadership experience, pet care knowledge, strong analytical skills for trends/P&L, and passion for team development. Proficiency in inventory systems, merchandising, safety protocols, and customer service essential. Commitment to ethical standards and continuous improvement required.
