Role Overview
As a Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) in our Layton, Utah store, you'll share responsibility for driving store performance. This full-time role oversees merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, associate leadership, financial outcomes, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. You'll uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy while ensuring pets and pet parents receive exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Recruit, interview, coach, and develop associates; prioritize tasks, ensure training compliance, manage labor, and foster engagement through recognition and communication.
Store Experience & Operations
Oversee pet health and habitat maintenance; validate inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and planograms; manage Buy Online Pick Up In Store programs; analyze sales trends; maintain vendor relations and store standards for safety and cleanliness.
Expense Management
Drive P&L results by controlling sales, shrink, labor, and supplies; leverage reporting to identify trends and opportunities for business growth.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail leadership experience, pet care knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a passion for team development. Proficiency in inventory systems, merchandising, financial analysis, and creating positive pet parent experiences is essential. Must be adaptable to store needs, committed to safety, and able to handle opening/closing duties.

- Coordinate opening/closing procedures and respond to escalated concerns
