Role Overview

The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving store performance, including merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate leadership, and financial outcomes. You'll maintain a safe, organized store while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values. This full-time role involves opening/closing duties, vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with policies.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Recruit, coach, and develop associates; manage labor, onboarding, and performance reviews; delegate tasks and ensure pet safety training.

Store Operations & Pet Care

Oversight of pet health (feeding, cleaning habitats), inventory processes (receiving, stocking, counts), merchandising, BOPIS/SFS programs, and store standards for safety and cleanliness.

Financial & Business Management

Drive P&L goals, analyze sales trends, control shrink/expenses, and identify growth opportunities through data and merchandising decisions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have retail management experience, proven leadership in team development, expertise in inventory and pet care operations, strong analytical skills for P&L management, and a passion for pets. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities are essential in a fast-paced retail setting.
