Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence, upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values. This full-time role oversees merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate leadership, financial outcomes, and maintaining a safe store environment in our New Glasgow location.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, coach associates; manage onboarding, reviews, labor, and succession planning; delegate tasks and ensure pet safety training.
- Store Experience: Oversee pet healthcare (feeding, cleaning habitats for birds, reptiles, fish); validate inventory processes, merchandising, and BOPIS/SFS programs; maintain vendor relations and store standards.
- Expense Management: Analyze reports to hit sales/shrink targets; identify growth opportunities and hold teams accountable to P&L goals.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail leadership experience, passion for pets, and skills in team development, operations, and financial management. Proficiency in inventory systems, merchandising, and pet care knowledge is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities set you up for success.

- Drive store P&L performance including sales targets and shrink reduction
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Coordinate opening/closing procedures and respond to pet parent concerns
