Role Overview

As a Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) in our Newton, Massachusetts store, you'll share responsibility for driving operational excellence while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This full-time role involves merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, associate leadership, financial outcomes, and maintaining a safe, organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

Recruit, interview, coach associates; facilitate onboarding, reviews, labor management, and succession planning. Delegate tasks, ensure training compliance, address grievances, and celebrate high performers to boost engagement.

Store Experience & Operations

Oversee pet healthcare including feeding, cleaning habitats, and sick pet protocols. Manage inventory processes, planograms, BOPIS/SFS programs, vendor relations, and merchandising decisions. Maintain store standards, safety, and respond to pet parent concerns.

Expense Management

Analyze reports to hit sales and shrink targets, manage labor/supplies, and leverage resources for business growth.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership, pet care knowledge, inventory expertise, and analytical skills for P&L optimization. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment required.
