Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving operational excellence, upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values. You'll lead merchandising, inventory, pet care, associate development, financial outcomes, and maintain a safe, organized store environment. This full-time role involves opening/closing duties and responding to pet parent needs.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Recruit, interview, coach, and develop associates; prioritize tasks, ensure training compliance, manage labor, and foster engagement through recognition and communication.
Store Operations & Pet Care
Oversee pet health maintenance, habitat standards, inventory accuracy, merchandising, planograms, BOPIS/SFS programs, vendor relations, and sales trend analysis while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
Financial & Expense Management
Drive P&L results, minimize shrink, analyze reports, manage labor/supplies, and leverage home office resources for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership, pet care knowledge, analytical skills for inventory/P&L, and a passion for operational excellence. Proficiency in coaching, problem-solving, and maintaining high standards is essential.
