Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager (Process Leader) shares responsibility for driving store performance through merchandising, inventory, pet care, and team leadership. Accountable for financial outcomes, safety, and upholding PetSmart's vision, this full-time role ensures a safe, organized store while leading associates to meet business and pet parent needs.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, coach, and develop associates; manage labor, onboarding, and task delegation; address grievances and foster engagement.
- Store Experience: Oversee pet health (feeding, cleaning, sick pet protocols), inventory processes (receiving, stocking, counts), merchandising, and BOPIS/SFS programs; maintain vendor relations and safety standards.
- Expense Management: Analyze reports to hit sales/shrink targets, control labor/supply costs, and identify growth opportunities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail leadership experience, pet care knowledge, strong analytical skills for P&L and inventory, and a passion for team development. Proficiency in operational processes, compliance, and customer service is essential. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment prioritizing pet welfare and store standards.
